Visitor - Directions - How to Get Here
The villages of Doune and Deanston are situated in central Scotland, straddling the A84 road to Callander and the north-west. Just eight miles from of Stirling, yet close to the motorway and rail networks from Edinburgh and Glasgow, the accessibility of the area make for a popular commuting location. For visitors the proximity of the hills and National Park make this a perfect location.
By Road

By Car

From Glasgow or Edinburgh follow the M80 or M9 respectively towards Stirling. The signed exit is junction 19 onto the A84, passing the Safari Park and crossing the river Teith on the historic Tailors Bridge (1535) with fine views to the castle.

The preferred approach on a fine day (though not recommended for HGVs, caravans etc) is from the motorway end at the Keir Roundabout. The B824 takes you over the Hill of Row road past the Stirling memorial statue. Here a small car park offers one of the finest vistas in Scotland.

Travelling from Callendar and the North-West simply follow the A84 towards Stirling. Approaching from Perth and the North East take the A9 to the A820 signed to Doune.
