Building a Community for the Community
Kilmadock has a thriving and flourishing economic community, continually developing and evolving, supporting and supported by the villages and villagers.

Overseeing and coordinating local development projects is the Kilmadock Development Trust - a growing voluntary team that work hard to make improvements for the residents and visitors to the village. Recent projects have included the support and development of this web site, instigating the Deanston Community Flat, providing support for the access forums and Walking Festival and grant work on refurbishing the multi-court facilities.

The KDT integrate closely with the local Community Council who provide a legal and administrative route right up to the Scottish Executive. Currently issues range from the wind farm planning inquiry to twinning proposals with the French mayor of Pionsat.

At a smaller level, strong local interest and support gives Kilmadock a special appeal. Within the area there are numerous groups, clubs and societies providing everything from Angling to Zookeeping.

A local business directory is also listed here. Kilmadock has an amazing range of shops, services, professions and skills - this economic diversity helps maintain balance in the area so please consider someone from this list when you next need something.
